PUBLIC trust and satisfaction in the Marcos administration inched up in late June, although overall distrust and dissatisfaction remained prevalent, the latest nationwide survey by Tangere showed.
The survey found public trust in the administration rose by 3 percentage points to 32 percent from 29 percent, while overall satisfaction also increased by three points to 35 percent from 32 percent.
Despite the improvement, Tangere said negative public sentiment continued to outweigh positive perceptions.
Among Cabinet officials, Education Secretary Juan Edgardo Angara emerged as the most trusted, posting a 50.23 percent trust rating.
He was followed by Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian with 47.96 percent and Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. with 43.48 percent.
Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino ranked fourth with 43.10 percent, followed by Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III at 42.51 percent.
Also included in the top 10 most trusted Cabinet members were Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac with 41.75 percent, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. with 41.44 percent, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon with 40.13 percent, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa with 39.37 percent, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro with 38.97 percent.
In terms of satisfaction, Gatchalian ranked first with a 48.0 percent rating, followed by Angara with 46.3 percent and Solidum, 44.1 percent.
Tolentino placed fourth with 42.0 percent, while Estrella and Cacdac both registered 41.9 percent.
Completing the top 10 in satisfaction were Dizon with 41.3 percent, Herbosa with 41.0 percent, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda with 40.2 percent, and Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. with 39.8 percent.
Tangere Chief Executive Officer Martin Penaflor said the trust ratings reflect the public’s assessment of the performance and leadership of individual government agencies, while the satisfaction ratings indicate how Filipinos perceive the quality of government service delivery and responsiveness.
The non-commissioned survey was conducted from June 23 to 27, 2026, through a mobile-based application among 1,500 respondents using stratified random quota sampling.
It has a margin of error of ±2.30 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level. Respondents were drawn from the National Capital Region, Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
