IN sports news, the longest season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has come to an end last Saturday. You can use the present perfect tense in this case, 'has come,' instead of the simple past tense, 'came,' since it happened fairly recently. Anyway, we all love an underdog story, and I am delighted the underdogs came out victorious this season. The Petro Gazz Angels defeated the highly favored and much decorated Creamline Cool Smashers in their rubber match for the championship in convincing fashion, disposing of their longtime rivals in four sets. As a volleyball fan, this is definitely good news for the sport! I have never been a die-hard supporter of any sports team with the exception of DLSU UAAP teams just because it's my alma mater, and I'm as loyal as they can get! Seeing new faces on that highest podium in the PVL is definitely a breath of fresh air! Congratulations to the Petro Gazz Angels!
