ICTSI: How a Filipino firm made good in going global

COMBINING ambition, adaptability and partnerships allowed International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) to become a global port operator and Filipino firms looking to expand internationally should consider doing the same, a senior official said.

“When ICTSI was founded in 1987 to bid for the privatization of the Manila International Container Terminal, global expansion was already part of the plan,” company Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Manuel Pascua told The Manila Times.

EXTENDED OPERATION International Container Terminal Services Inc. on Oct. 6, 2025 has said its subsidiaries in Subic secured a 25-year extension of their concessions from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. ICTSI told the stock exchange that the extensions given Subic Bay International Terminals Corp. and ICTSI Subic Inc. would allow the continued operation and management of New Container Terminals 1 and 2 up to 2058.
