P3.6B SMX Cebu to open next year

SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., the hospitality arm of SM Prime Holdings Inc., is investing P3.6 billion to build the SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2026.

In a disclosure on Thursday, SM Prime said the new facility is set to become one of the largest meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions venues in the Visayas, offering in excess of 21,000 square meters (sqm) of leasable space across six levels and seating for more than 18,000 people.
