THE Department of Energy (DOE) on Thursday said that 956 megawatts (MW) of generation capacity had been added to the country’s power grids as of Nov. 27 under a presidential directive to speed up the construction of 200 power plants by 2028.

It called the additions “concrete progress” in translating the president’s orders into on-the-ground infrastructure.
