From humble beginnings to a market leader, Matimco’s legacy is built on family passion and uncompromising quality.

SIXTY years of operation have allowed Matimco House of Wood to redefine premium wood living in the Philippines. Established in 1964 as the Mandaue Timber Co. (Matimco), the company now stands as a market leader in engineered wood products, though its roots were far humbler.

President and CEO Charlie Liu, representing the second generation, vividly recalled the sacrifice required during the early years at the Cebu factory. “I remembered my mom when she was pregnant with my sister, spraying paint on the cases... That was how difficult life was when we were starting,” he said. The company initially made wooden soft drink and beer cases.
