Strategic shift to dwarf coconuts boosts Palawan farm’s earnings

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A 10.8-hectare coconut farm in Palawan has demonstrated the viability of sustainable and high-value coconut production, reporting more than P400,000 in net profits over two years by focusing on specialized seed production.

Larry Galang, farm manager of the La Redna Spring Farm in Sofronio Española town, reported gross sales of P556,000 against total expenses of P106,000 during the two-year period. The figures highlight the profitability of well-managed coconut farming operations centered on seedling and seednut production.
