ARTIFICIAL Intelligence has changed the concepts of work and competition. In the past, authors Michael Treacy and Fred Wiersema’s strategy for market leaders translates to having either of best product, lowest cost, and customer intimacy.

But the Philippines should no longer compete on labor cost alone because it sounds like a race to the bottom. Filipinos can compete globally, if supported by national policy, on five key attributes: agile talent, AI-enabled human capability, creativity, trust, resilience, and service excellence.
