DOJ to engage more with its prosecution units

THE Department of Justice (DOJ) continues to strengthen coordination with field offices and review operations across prosecution units, following its visit to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasig City at the Bulwagan ng Katarungan along Caruncho Avenue.

DOJ Undersecretary Ian Dato, who oversees the National Prosecution Service, led the visit as part of a broader tour to obtain updates from local prosecution offices and solidify coordination in the handling of criminal cases at the regional, provincial and city levels.

“We remain committed to maintaining close coordination with our prosecution offices to ensure that operations remain responsive, efficient and aligned with the standards of the National Prosecution Service. This initiative allows us to better understand the operational realities of our field offices and identify areas for continued improvement,” Dato stated.

The Pasig City engagement is part of a broader tour, which started in Camiguin, Laguna, Bacolod, Iloilo, Baguio, San Juan, Makati, Taguig and Pasig, with Mandaluyong scheduled next.

The series of visits allows the DOJ leadership to obtain updates from local prosecution offices, which play a key role in the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases within their respective jurisdictions.
