DigiPlus Foundation extends a hand after 7.8 earthquake ravaged South Mindanao

DISASTER struck Mindanao on the morning of June 8, as a big part of the Philippines’ southern border was hit with a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake — the strongest to ever hit the country since the devastating 1990 Luzon quake 36 years ago.

Thousands of lives were disrupted in an instant, and a recent report from the Department of Public Works and Highways placed the damage quickly past the P1 billion mark within a day’s worth of assessments.

As Filipinos continue to seek help in the immediate aftermath of this terrible disaster, the DigiPlus Foundation is promptly stepping in to lend a helping hand, having recently set up a special Mindanao earthquake tab on the BingoPlus app Charity page so users can help.

The Charity Page enables users to allocate Impact points provided by the app to causes they support and align with DigiPlus Foundation’s advocacies. Accumulated Impact points scale up existing Foundation commitments to its flagship projects on education, health care, resilience and empowerment. Through participation, users become enablers to “Multiply the Good.”

In the wake of the devastating earthquake, a special project was launched to address the urgent relief needs of affected families. For each Impact batch unlocked, the foundation extends more food packs and essentials to communities in General Santos City, where much of the damage was felt.

The foundation is currently coordinating onsite distribution and schedules with the relevant authorities to quickly deliver their assistance packages to the hardest-hit sectors of General Santos City.

Help the earthquake victims by downloading the BingoPlus app and visiting the Charity page.
