Currently, she serves as the owner and general manager of SPEX International Courier Services, a company specializing in reliable logistics solutions for clients.
In addition to her work in logistics, she is the proud owner of Simple Elegance Jewelry, a business that creates and sells exquisite jewelry. Her diverse entrepreneurial experiences reflect her passion for innovation and commitment to quality in every venture she undertakes.
Art was not something she initially considered a passion. While she always sensed a creative temperament within her, it remained largely dormant as she dedicated her time and energy to building her business.
Everything changed dramatically when she met her husband, Christian Ibay Rivera. His unwavering enthusiasm for art was infectious, transforming her perspective.
Christian’s deep appreciation for various artistic forms opened her eyes to the richness and depth of artistic expression. At present, Remz is an active member of the Artists’ Guild of La Union (Aglaun), a vibrant community dedicated to promoting and supporting local artists. The organization is overseen by two accomplished artists: Jerome Barbadillo, known for his innovative approach to contemporary art, and Rodel Rillera, whose mastery of various artistic techniques has earned him recognition in the regional and national art scene.
Through Aglaun, Remz has the opportunity to collaborate with fellow creatives, participate in exhibitions, and engage in artistic development projects that enrich the local cultural landscape.
She held her first exhibit in collaboration with her art organization during the pandemic, at the Ciano Umok Gallery in Bauang, La Union. This experience was particularly significant for her, as it marked a milestone in her artistic journey.
Overcoming numerous obstacles brought on by the pandemic, Remz felt immense pride and accomplishment at finally being able to showcase her work to the public.
In 2023, she further expanded her artistic horizons by participating in an all-women exhibit at a prominent art gallery in Pasig. This event brought together some of the most talented and innovative women artists from across the country, creating a vibrant platform for their voices and visions to be heard. It was a fantastic opportunity for her to connect with fellow creatives and to celebrate the strength and resilience of women in the art community.
While she has not yet mounted a solo show, anticipation for one is building. Remz is eagerly looking forward to seeing her unique perspective and artistic expression come to life in her own dedicated exhibit in the future.
