BMW adds Limited-Edition X5 xDrive50e xLine PHEV to Philippine lineup

THE BMW X5 plug-in hybrid, dubbed the xDrive50e, has quickly become one of the brand’s most popular models in the Philippines, thanks to its strong value proposition and blistering performance.

It also arrives with a significantly lower starting price than the X5 xDrive30d diesel it replaced in 2025, largely due to regulations favoring electrified vehicles.

Now, BMW Philippines is making the X5 plug-in hybrid even more accessible with the introduction of a new xLine variant.

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMC ACDC) said the BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine will be limited to 50 units. For buyers interested in the model, availability may therefore be limited.

In terms of design and features, the xLine variant adopts a more rugged appearance characterized by additional black cladding and satin silver exterior trim. The signature kidney grilles retain BMW’s Iconic Glow LED illumination and are complemented by full-LED headlights and taillights. The exterior is further distinguished by 19-inch alloy wheels finished in silver and designed with a more elegant appearance.

While the X5 xDrive50e M Sport focuses on a sportier interior treatment, the xLine version offers a more refined approach. Occupants are treated to Sensafin Décor Stitching upholstery accented by “Fineline Stripe” high-gloss brown wood trim.

As expected of a modern BMW, twin digital displays run the latest BMW Operating System 8.5 with ConnectedDrive telematics. Other features include a HiFi loudspeaker system, Comfort Access, and a wireless charging tray. Safety is enhanced by BMW’s Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant suites of advanced driver-assistance systems.

Fineline Stripe wood trim and Sensafin upholstery create a more upscale and relaxed cabin environment.

Powering the new BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine is BMW’s familiar 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six gasoline engine, known internally as the B58. The engine has earned a strong reputation among enthusiasts and is also found in vehicles such as the Toyota GR Supra and BMW M340i.

Paired with an electric motor integrated into the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, the plug-in hybrid system produces a combined 483 horsepower (hp) and 700 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. That output enables the midsize luxury SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

Of course, one of the key advantages of a plug-in hybrid is its ability to travel significant distances on electric power alone. Equipped with a 27.5-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery pack, the X5 xDrive50e offers a WLTP-rated electric driving range of up to 118 kilometers (km).

Charging is accomplished exclusively through AC power, with a maximum charging rate of 7.4 kilowatts (kW).

Customers can choose from several metallic exterior colors, including Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Skyscraper Grey, and Blue Ridge Mountain, paired with Sensafin interior finishes in Black, Coffee, or Cognac.

The BMW X5 xDrive50e xLine is priced at P5.498 million and comes with a portable charger, a five-year or 200,000-km BMW warranty, whichever comes first, and an eight-year or 120,000-km warranty for the high-voltage battery, whichever comes first.
