THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) highlighted the growing role of science, technology and innovation (STI) in advancing the Philippine gaming and creative industries during the successful staging of the ALT + TAB Festival 2026.

The two-day festival gathered gamers, content creators, students, innovators, technology enthusiasts and industry partners to celebrate Filipino talent while showcasing the expanding opportunities in game development, esports, digital creativity and emerging technologies.

Through DOST’s Esports and Game Development Program and its continued investments in the creative sector, the department aims to cultivate a highly skilled workforce, support technology-driven enterprises and create more opportunities for Filipino innovators and creators.

Among the festival highlights was the Game Dev Challenge Regional Winners Showcase, where aspiring Filipino game developers presented original games that reflected both technical excellence and creative storytelling.
