The Sandbox Collective will present a limited staged reading of Duncan Macmillan’s “People, Places, and Things” in August 2026, with Artistic Director Sab Jose set to direct.

The reading forms part of the company’s ongoing programming and will focus on Macmillan’s play, which examines addiction, recovery and escapism through the story of an actress whose life has become unmanageable.

The production will be presented as an intimate staged reading intended to foreground the text and its dialogue, under Jose’s direction.

Following our production of ‘Spring Awakening’ in February, Duncan Macmillan’s ‘People, Places, and Things’ continues our commitment to bringing difficult yet necessary conversations to the stage and beyond, expanding our reach, fostering understanding and helping normalize discussions that matter most,” Jose said.
