The Philippine Coding Camp (PCC) and the FEU Institute of Technology (FEU Tech) formalized a partnership aimed at expanding technology education, research and innovation programs for students, professionals and public-sector institutions during the “InnoVision 2026: Special Forum on Military IT Convergence” held on June 17.
The collaboration, announced at the FEU Tech Innovation Center, seeks to strengthen technology capabilities through joint training, research initiatives and innovation programs while promoting greater collaboration among the academe, government, industry and the defense sector.
PCC Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Gabriel Avelino Sampedro led the announcement alongside FEU Tech Executive Director Rossana T. Adao, Senior Director for Student Success Jarvis Muyargas and Senior Director for Innovation and Research Engr. Daryl D. David.
The forum gathered defense personnel, academic leaders, researchers, technology professionals and institutional partners to discuss how emerging technologies can support military education, public-sector readiness and national technological development.
Under the partnership, PCC will spearhead technology training programs, industry and government linkages, innovation activities and capacity-building efforts, while FEU Tech and its Innovation Center will provide the academic and research environment for collaboration, applied learning and technology development.
The institutions said the initiative would create more opportunities for students, educators, researchers and professionals to gain exposure to emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, the Internet of Things and autonomous systems.
Rather than focusing solely on classroom instruction, the programs will emphasize hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and the practical application of technology to real-world challenges.
The FEU Tech Innovation Center will also serve as a venue where students, researchers, government agencies and industry partners can collaborate on research projects and develop technology-driven solutions.
The partnership also supports PCC's broader goal of bridging technology education with industry and public-sector applications by connecting learners with mentors, practitioners and institutional partners.
Another key focus of InnoVision 2026 was the continued technology upskilling of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other defense-related institutions.
According to PCC, it has been conducting training programs for uniformed personnel covering software quality assurance, digital tools, data-driven decision-making and emerging technologies to complement ongoing modernization efforts within the defense sector.
The organization also aims to strengthen research and innovation within military institutions through expert-led training, institutional partnerships and forums that encourage collaboration among defense personnel, educators and technology specialists.
The forum featured international experts, including Dr. Artem Lensky of the University of New South Wales Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy and science and technology adviser Dr. Steve Chan, who shared insights on artificial intelligence, surveillance systems, information technologies and open-source intelligence in modern defense operations.
InnoVision 2026 builds on the InnoVision Campus Series launched earlier this year, expanding the initiative from campus-based technology awareness programs to broader institutional collaboration involving research, professional development and innovation.
Organizers said the partnership is expected to pave the way for future forums, workshops, research projects and student engagement programs as PCC and FEU Tech work to develop a new generation of Filipino innovators equipped with future-ready digital skills.
