MSMEs make P3M in sales at Makati caravan

PARTICIPATING micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) generated P3.02 million in sales at the Negosyo Agraryo Mini Caravan in Makati City, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said on Wednesday.

The event, held June 23–25, was hosted by DTI’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (DTI-CARP) and featured 20 on-site MSMEs from Regions 1 (Ilocos Region), 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon) and Mimaropa offering fresh produce, rice, dairy, processed meats, fruits, nuts, pastries and regional coffee.

Another 29 MSMEs participated off-site through a preorder system.

“Consumer demand was so robust that exhibitors completely sold out their inventory, prompting daily restocks. Buyers praised the event, noting that the products were fresh, delicious and affordable,” DTI said.

The caravan facilitated major marketing agreements with the Moment Group of Restaurants and Global Organic and Wellness Corp., alongside bulk orders from private buyers across Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

The top three sellers were from Pampanga and Bulacan.

A highlight was the June 25 Business and Product Pitching session, organized with the DTI Bureau of Market Development, Promotions and One Town, One Product, where local entrepreneurs pitched to institutional buyers including The Vegan Grocer, The Good Store, Picks Food Products Trading, SBE Events and The Belamy House.

Further partnerships with the MSME Hub and The Belamy House are under negotiation.

DTI-CARP said it will monitor the ongoing negotiations and provide technical guidance to help the agrarian reform entrepreneurs finalize commercial agreements.

“Building on this momentum, the program remains committed to refining future caravans to widen market access and deepen the economic impact for its beneficiaries,” the DTI said.
