CONVERGE ICT Solutions Inc. has joined the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) as a Platinum Member to support the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry’s move toward artificial intelligence (AI) readiness.
The listed fiber broadband provider on Thursday said joining IBPAP would help it support group collaboration on workforce upskilling and digital transformation as AI reshapes the sector.
“We need to level up the skills of our workers and transform our industries to enable us to capture the opportunities being offered by the AI boom,” Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy said.
“At Converge, we have laid down the solid foundation through our national digital infrastructure to support industries, including our BPOs, in their AI journey. The next step is to capacitate our workers with skills necessary to navigate AI and other emerging technologies,” he added.
Uy said the partnership also provides opportunities to work with industry stakeholders to help prepare the country’s nearly two million BPO workers for AI-driven changes.
“We cannot deny that AI is here and will continue to transform industries,” he said. “The future of Philippine BPOs is in complex work, which requires upgrading our workforce from basic support to highly skilled specialists.”
IBPAP President and CEO Jack Madrid welcomed Converge as a member, citing the company’s role in supporting the industry’s operations during the pandemic.
“Converge was central to that story, keeping our people online and our operations running across the country,” Madrid said. “That’s why welcoming them as our newest Platinum Member isn’t just a recognition of business value — it’s an acknowledgment of a partner who showed up when it mattered most.”
According to IBPAP, the Philippine IT-business process management industry employed 1.9 million workers and generated $40 billion in export revenues in 2025, accounting for more than 8 percent of the country’s gross domestic product.
Converge shares closed unchanged at P9.90 each on Thursday.
