VANCOUVER, Canada — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney here on Thursday (Friday in Manila) as the two countries sought to boost their defense and economic partnerships.

Marcos, who began his four-day official visit to Canada on Wednesday, was welcomed by Carney upon his arrival at Vancouver Convention Center.

The President will hold a bilateral meeting with Carney to be followed by signing of agreements and a joint press statement.

He will also visit Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee in Vancouver on the same day.

On Friday morning, Marcos will hold one-on-one meetings with business executives and participate in roundtable discussions with private sector leaders.

The President will be accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos during engagements with the Filipino community in Vancouver on Friday evening.

On the visit’s fourth day, Marcos will hold a press conference with the Philippine media before his departure for Manila.
