ASSALAMUALAIKUM.

The Philippine government reaffirmed its commitment to fully implementing the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), emphasizing that sustaining peace remains a national priority as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) prepares for its first parliamentary elections.

Officials stressed that the peace process has been built through years of sacrifice, cooperation, and leadership among stakeholders, making it a shared responsibility to preserve and strengthen its gains.

While awaiting the appointment of a new chairman of the Government Peace Implementing Panel, the Office of the President assured stakeholders that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains committed to fully implementing the CAB and expanding the dividends of peace for future generations.

As Barmm approaches its landmark elections, the government called for peaceful, orderly, and credible polls, stressing that protecting electoral integrity and maintaining stability require the cooperation of all sectors. The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (Opapru) likewise reiterated its non-partisan role, emphasizing that its initiatives are guided solely by its peace building mandate and should not be construed as support for any political group or candidate.

Opapru also highlighted the importance of ensuring that institutions established under the CAB continue functioning effectively regardless of political transitions, underscoring that peace building must outlast changes in leadership.

The government urged local government units, civil society organizations, religious leaders, educators, women and youth groups, the private sector, media, and Bangsamoro communities to remain active partners in promoting peace, development, and inclusivity.

Reaffirming its commitment to work closely with the Barmm government and peace mechanisms, Opapru said lasting peace depends on good governance, sustained cooperation, and continued adherence to the CAB, enabling a peaceful, economically vibrant, and development-oriented Bangsamoro for future generations.

Shukran.
