FIRST Gen Corp. said Friday that it had signed another supply deal with the Lyceum of the Philippines University to provide renewable energy for the latter’s Cavite campus.
The agreement brought to four the number of Lyceum campuses sourcing geothermal electricity from First Gen under the Department of Energy’s Retail Aggregation Program.
“We are deeply grateful for the trust Lyceum of the Philippines University has placed on us to support their needs to transition to clean energy,” First Gen chief customer engagement officer Carlo Vega said in a statement.
Lyceum’s Manila and Cavite president Roberto Laurel said: “We believe that education goes beyond the four walls of the classroom, and how we run our institution reflects what we stand for.”
“Partnering with First Gen Corp. is our commitment made visible, and this is a tangible step toward environmental responsibility, which we hope will inspire our students to carry this mindset forward in their own careers and communities.”
The RAP, one of the Energy department’s consumers’ choice programs, allows electricity users to combine their energy demand to reach a minimum 100 kilowatts and win the right to choose their power suppliers.
First Gen’s share price fell by 24 centavos to close at P15.84 each on Friday.
