MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tennis ace and world No. 32 Alex Eala will close in on the top 25 of the WTA rankings if she wins her Wimbledon third-round match in London on Saturday.
A win over defending champ Iga Swiatek will increase Eala's total ranking points from 1,556 to 1,666, good for a share of the 26th spot with Anastasia Potapova.
Sporting a career-best No. 29 in the official rankings, Eala is No. 31 in the live rankings as of writing.
The official rankings will be updated after Wimbledon on July 12.
