MANILA, Philippines — Health experts from the Philippines joined a regional initiative to strengthen dengue surveillance and outbreak response after health experts signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the 9th Asia Dengue Summit 2026 in Singapore.
In a statement Friday, the Philippine Medical Association—led by Dr. Rose Capeding and Dr. Lulu Bravo—joined policymakers, scientists, clinicians, and advocacy groups from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore to establish a framework for knowledge exchange, joint advocacy, and coordinated action on dengue prevention, research, and policy harmonization across Southeast Asia.
“Bringing together clinical, scientific, and public health perspectives was essential to advancing more effective management of dengue in the region,” said Capeding, stressing the urgency to collaborate with different countries and disciplines to eradicate dengue cases across the region
