Newport World Resorts is expanding the role of its in-house production arm, Full House Theater Company (FHTC), as it broadens its live entertainment offerings beyond musical theater.
After more than a decade of producing the integrated resort’s theatrical productions, FHTC will take on a wider range of live entertainment experiences as part of the company’s continued investment in the performing arts.
Established in 2014, FHTC has staged productions such as “Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical,” “Shrek The Musical,” “Bituing Walang Ningning,” “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical” and “Delia D.: A Musical Featuring the Songs of Jonathan Manalo.”
The expansion coincides with the launch of FHTC’s new logo and website, www.fhtcentertainment.com.
In addition to mounting its own productions, the company is expanding its collaborative work through strategic partnerships under Front Row Theatre Management Inc., FHTC’s performing arts and entertainment company.
That direction has already taken shape through a partnership with VIVA Artists Agency Inc., which produced “Bagets The Musical” earlier this year. The collaboration will continue with “Bongga Ka, ‘Day: The Annie Batungbakal Musical,” scheduled to open in September.
As Newport World Resorts continues to build its entertainment portfolio with local and international productions, FHTC said it will broaden its programming to include concerts, straight plays, improv theater and special events throughout the integrated resort.
According to the company, the expansion also reflects its continuing efforts to provide more opportunities for Filipino artists while contributing to the country’s live entertainment scene.
