Fête de la Musique draws thousands for annual music celebration

The French Embassy-supported Fête de la Musique Philippines 2026 drew thousands of music fans to Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City, where Filipino and French artists shared the stage during the festival’s 32nd edition.

Held on June 20 as part of Makati Street Meet and the Makati City Fiesta, the free open-air concert served as the festival’s main stage and showcased a diverse lineup of performers spanning rock, hip-hop, jazz, indie and international music.

The annual celebration was co-presented by Alliance Française de Manille, Funkybeat Entertainment and the Embassy of France to the Philippines under the theme, “For the People, By the People,” highlighting cultural exchange between France and the Philippines through music.

One of the evening’s biggest attractions was the return of Radioactive Sago Project, which performed live for the first time after an extended hiatus. The jazz-rock and spoken-word collective headlined a lineup that also featured Lola Amour, Morobeats, the Jewelmer Jazz Band, fitterkarma and Nameless Kids.

French performers also took part in the celebration, with krautrock trio Meule bringing its signature blend of analog-driven psychedelic music during its Asian tour, while French-Vietnamese harpist Héloïse La Harpe presented a contemporary harp performance.

Complementing the musical program was the Taste of France French Market along Paseo de Roxas, where visitors sampled French food and artisanal products.

The celebration continued beyond the main stage through Makati’s Pocket Stages and destination stages across the country, with performances held in dozens of venues and communities nationwide before concluding on June 29.
