THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) beat its June revenue target by P2.853 billion, raising its first-half surplus to P11.478 billion and reinforcing its drive toward a P1-trillion collection goal this year.
The agency collected P86.073 billion in June, exceeding its P83.220-billion target.
The latest haul was 11.7 percent higher than the P77.035 billion collected in June 2025, or an additional P9.037 billion in revenues.
From January to June, the BOC collected P491.748 billion.
The amount exceeded its six-month target of P480.270 billion by P11.478 billion, or 2.4 percent.
Year on year, first-half collections grew by P32.977 billion, or 7.2 percent, from the P458.771 billion recorded during the same period last year.
The latest accomplishment coincided with Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno’s first year as head of the agency.
The BOC said stronger collections were backed by tighter enforcement, improved trade facilitation, enhanced compliance measures, and continuing modernization efforts.
All 17 collection districts contributed to the agency’s revenue gains.
Nepomuceno said the Bureau’s performance reflected improvements in revenue collection, border protection, digital transformation programs, and institutional reforms. He credited customs personnel nationwide for the Bureau’s strong showing.
“Every peso collected is the result of the collective efforts of our personnel throughout the Bureau,” he said, thanking employees for their dedication and commitment to public service.
Nepomuceno said the BOC remains focused on sustaining its momentum and hitting its P1-trillion collection target for 2026.
