TAIPEI — Taiwanese investigators raided the premises of shipping giant Evergreen Marine on Monday and summoned nine people for questioning on suspicion of insider trading, prosecutors said.

The suspects, including a person surnamed Chang, allegedly traded shares during a "prohibited trading period", the Taipei District Prosecutors Office said, without elaborating.

Investigators raided the homes of the nine suspects and 10 other locations, including company premises, prosecutors said.

Evergreen Marine said in a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange that it was cooperating with the investigation.

"This incident has no significant impact on the Company's financial condition or business operations," the statement said.
