MANILA, Philippines — The prosecution team of the House of Representatives said there was no victory to claim yet. a day after lawyers of Vice President Sara Duterte it was "too early" in the proceedings to count wins or losses.

The prosecution on Tuesday presented National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agent John Mark Calilung, who authenticated the video of the press briefing of Duterte last November 2024 when she was recorded to have made "kill" remarks against President Ferfinand Marcos Jr., first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and former speaker Martin Romualdez.

"As we stated, we decided that we're pleased with how the first day of [our] presentation of witness went because despite repeated attempts to stop us from presenting our evidence, we prevailed, we prevailed and were able to do that," House legal spokesman and private prosecutor Benjamin Tolosa Jr. told reporters at the proseuction's press briefing on Wednesday at the Tolentino Room at the Senate.

Tolosa said they have already expected that the Defense would raise objections, and stressed that the trial is not judged on how many objections would be sustained or overruled, but on the strength of the evidence.

The trial continues today with the cross examination of Calilung by the defense team.
