President Marcos has ordered a full government response to ensure the country's preparedness for the possible impact of Super Typhoon Inday. The MMDA has activated all 73 of its pumping stations. The Office of Civil Defense, for its part, raised its alert status to blue alert. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said all concerned government agencies have mobilized their personnel in response to the typhoon.
Recommendations on possible wage hikes outside the National Capital Region or NCR are expected by September. This was disclosed by President Marcos. Recently, an 85-peso daily wage increase was approved in the NCR. Marcos said the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards are studying prevailing economic conditions in their respective regions. After completing their studies, they will decide on the wage adjustments.

The DPWH has started Phase 2 of the EDSA rehabilitation project. The rehabilitation is being conducted along the northbound Ortigas bus lane in Mandaluyong City. Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has emphasized that the rehabilitation of EDSA remains a priority infrastructure project of the government. A key component of the project is the expansion and improvement of sidewalks. This is to provide safer and more comfortable access for pedestrians.
The Education Department will launch shooting drills this Friday. Secretary Sonny Angara says they will show what needs to be done when someone fires a gun at school. The move follows the shooting incident last June 22 in a school in Tacloban City. Three were killed and several others were wounded in that incident. Several shooting threats were later reported in other schools in other parts of the country.
