Police arrest last suspect in deadly 2025 Silay election shooting

BACOLOD CITY — Authorities have arrested the second and last suspect in the deadly shooting incident that marred the May 12, 2025 national and local elections here, completing the police manhunt for all persons directly involved in the violence that left two people dead and eight others wounded.

Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesman for the Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), identified the suspect as 43-year-old “Clar,” a resident of La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
