BlueWater Day Spa unveils wellness offerings, welcomes Janeena Chan

Marking another milestone in its more than two decades in the wellness industry, BlueWater Day Spa launched a fresh lineup of treatments designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation while welcoming television host and content creator Janeena Chan as the newest member of its roster of celebrity ambassadors.

The launch was held on June 18 at BlueWater Day Spa’s Eton Square Ortigas branch and highlighted some of the wellness brand’s newest offerings, including the Chiang Mai Thai Massage and Thai Yoga Massage, both inspired by traditional Thai healing techniques designed to ease muscle tension, improve flexibility and promote overall well-being.

The Chiang Mai Thai Massage combines acupressure, assisted stretching, gentle twisting and rhythmic compression techniques to help relieve muscle tension while improving flexibility and relaxation. The Thai Yoga Massage, meanwhile, incorporates assisted yoga stretches and acupressure to restore balance and encourage greater mobility.

Joining Chan at the event were fellow celebrity ambassadors David Licauco, Teejay Marquez, Fabio Ide and Ellen Fröjd, who shared how wellness has become an essential part of their personal and professional lives.

For Chan, who juggles hosting, content creation and various engagements, taking time to recharge is necessary.

“I really need time to pause and unwind. Our line of work can be very demanding and sometimes everything feels rushed, so I need moments when I’m not chasing anything and not thinking too much,” she said.

“Massages help a lot. I love hard massages, the kind that really release tension. I need that quiet time so my creativity can be full again and my happy energy can come back. When I leave here, I feel like I’ve had a wellness retreat without having to travel far,” she added.

Chan described joining the BlueWater family as a full-circle moment.

“I’ve known this brand since I was very young. It’s iconic. When I first heard about a spa where you could enjoy treatments while watching movies, I thought it was too good to be true. More than 20 years later, they’re still here because people trust the quality of their services,” she pointed out.

Licauco, meanwhile, reflected on his growth both professionally and personally and credited discipline and consistency for helping him achieve his goals.

“When I started in the industry, I didn’t know if I could act, run a business or succeed in the things I wanted to do. Looking back, I realized that if you know your goal, put in the work and stay disciplined, you can achieve it,” he said.

The actor added that wellness has become an important part of maintaining balance amid a demanding schedule.

“I choose endorsements that I genuinely use. I work out a lot, and after training, I really get massages. That’s why this partnership is meaningful to me,” he said.

Asked what treatment he would recommend to guests, Licauco suggested combining several services for the ultimate relaxation experience.

“What I usually do is get a facial first, then a massage while enjoying a movie. That’s probably my perfect day at BlueWater. It’s relaxing and everything you need is already here,” he added.

Marquez echoed the importance of self-care despite a busy lifestyle.

“If you love what you’re doing, everything follows. But let’s be honest, we all get tired,” he said.

“We receive a lot of blessings and opportunities, but we also have to pause, recharge and recover. Wellness is not a luxury anymore. It’s something necessary. Balance is the most important thing because when you’re physically and mentally well, you’re ready for whatever opportunities come your way,” Marquez continued.

Longtime ambassador Fabio Ide, who has been associated with BlueWater Day Spa since 2010, said the brand has become part of his family’s wellness routine.

“We’ve been coming here for many years and it feels like home every time. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you feel taken care of,” he said.

Now a father of three, Ide said he and fiancée Ellen Fröjd make it a point to teach their children the value of wellness and self-care at an early age.

“We want them to understand that success isn’t just about working hard. It’s also about taking care of yourself mentally, physically and emotionally. Every time we come here together as a family, it strengthens our bond and reminds us about the importance of balance,” he said.

Fröjd, who is known for her commitment to fitness and wellness, said self-care has always been a priority for their family.

“We work hard, but we also want our children to grow up understanding self-love and taking care of themselves. Being able to do wellness activities together as a family means a lot because it’s quality bonding time,” she said.

She also praised BlueWater’s Advanced 5D Laser Treatment, which she described as ideal for people looking to improve their skin without invasive procedures.

“It’s a really good treatment, especially for someone who wants to start investing in skincare. There’s no downtime, it’s not painful and it fits into a busy schedule,” Fröjd said.

“It helps with collagen production, brightening the skin and addressing pigmentation caused by sun exposure. What I like most is that it doesn’t dramatically change how you look. It simply helps you become the best version of yourself and your skin,” she added.

Beyond the newly introduced Thai-inspired massages, BlueWater Day Spa also showcased several of its wellness and aesthetic offerings, including the Advanced 5D Laser Treatment, which helps address pigmentation, fine lines and skin texture concerns. Guests also learned about Oxygen Infusion Therapy, Diamond Peel exfoliation, HIFU Face Contour treatment, Revitafirm skin-tightening procedures and specialty body scrubs such as the Botanical Rice and Milk Scrub and Olive or Pomegranate Scrub. The treatments are designed to address a range of concerns, from relaxation and flexibility to skin rejuvenation, anti-aging and overall wellness.

Also present at the launch were BlueWater Day Spa founder, president and CEO Mary Simisim, Operations Manager Nancy Go, actor-singer-director Carlo Orosa, Universal Records Philippines Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go, The Manila Times President and COO Blanca Mercado, former actress and politician Nikki Coseteng, film producer and ALV Talent Circuit President Arnold Vegafria, and representatives from Eton Properties.

As BlueWater Day Spa continues its more than 20-year journey in the wellness industry, the company aims to give Filipinos more opportunities to prioritize self-care through services that promote relaxation, recovery, beauty and overall well-being.
