Gonzales, Lajada, Reyes dominate Quezon Trailblaze

MANILA, Philippines — Randolph Gonzales topped the premier 70-kilometer category of the Quezon Trailblaze after clocking six hours, 58 minutes and 33 seconds in the trail running event held in General Nakar, Quezon.

Jordan Bugnay finished second, while Kert Aurellana placed third in the longest race of the competition.

Charmaine Madrid emerged as the first female finisher in the 70km category with a time of 9:25:46, placing 10th overall.

In the 42km race, Dennies Lajada captured the title after crossing the finish line in 3:54:48. Lloyd Magundayao settled for second place, while Kurt Rovivrus Iserio completed the podium in third.

Clarisse Francesca Yeung was the first female finisher in the 42km division, recording 4:32:55 to place sixth overall.

Norman Reyes ruled the 21km event with a winning time of 1:38:32. Mark Angelo Luzano finished second, followed by Gavin Vallester in third.

Kim Illustrisimo paced the women's field in the 21km race after posting 2:15:40, good for 12th overall.

Reyes also doubled up in the 5km category, winning the race in 19:05. Reinel Romaraog placed second, while Magundayao added another podium finish by taking third.

The Quezon Trailblaze was organized by Outdoor Statement and Pinoy Trails, bringing runners to the rugged trails of General Nakar as part of a two-day immersion celebrating the "REINA" spirit—Real, Infanta and Nakar—and showcasing the area's natural landscapes.

The event was held in coordination with the Local Government Unit of General Nakar, headed by Mayor Alfredo Pujeda, together with the Sangguniang Bayan and the Municipal Tourism Office. Uniformed personnel and emergency responders were also deployed throughout the race to help ensure the safety of participants. TMT
