Iza Calzado unlocks the ultimate real-life security upgrade

Yale Philippines brought the second leg of its Smart Yale Home Pop-up Booth to Wilcon Depot Balintawak, showcasing its latest smart home security innovations with actress and brand ambassador Iza Calzado.

Running until the end of June, the experiential showcase carries the theme "Unlock Real Life Security. Upgrade to a Smart Yale Home," allowing visitors to experience connected home security solutions designed for modern Filipino lifestyles.

Opening the event, Jonathan Kwong, director and general manager of Assa Abloy Philippines, said the successful launch of the campaign in May encouraged the company to continue expanding its reach through partnerships with Wilcon Depot.

"The strong response we received reaffirmed the growing interest in smarter, more connected home security solutions, and we're excited to continue that conversation,” he said.

Kwong added that Yale Smart Locks are now available in all Wilcon Depot branches nationwide, making smart security more accessible to Filipino homeowners.

Rosemarie Bosch Ong, Wilcon Depot senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, said homeowners are now looking beyond durability and design when choosing products.

"They are also prioritizing convenience, connectivity, and security. Smart home solutions like Yale's latest innovations reflect this shift — offering protection that is intuitive, reliable, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life,” she said.

Interactive smart home experience

The event opened with an interactive demonstration of the Yale Luna Elite+ smart lock, using its FaceScan technology to unlock the Smart Yale Home booth.

Guests, including Kwong, Bosch Ong, Carl Lim of Limson Marketing Inc., and Calzado, were welcomed into the showcase, highlighting how smart security can become part of everyday living.

The Yale Luna Elite+ served as the event's centerpiece, featuring seven keyless access options, including facial recognition, PalmScan, PIN code, RFID, mobile app control, and traditional keys.

During the demonstration, Calzado tried the lock's built-in radar and ultra-fast 3D FaceScan, as well as its touchless PalmScan feature.

Tech expert and Pinoy Metro Geek founder Ian Fuentes discussed the benefits of connected living through the Yale Home App.

"With the Yale Home App, your phone is your command center. Home is wherever you are, because you're always connected,” he said.

Relating the technology to her daily routine as a working mother, Calzado shared, "You know how much I love working out and being outdoors in my garden. When I get back inside, my hands are usually full with my dumbbells, towel, yoga mat, and water bottle.

Home is really my safe space — it's where I unwind and recharge. So having a lock like this just makes things easier; I don't have to fumble for keys just to get inside the house."

Beyond keyless entry, the Luna Elite+ also features a 4.7-inch indoor display with two-way audio, a built-in motion sensor, Welcome Light, and Smart Dual-Battery System.

Smart locks for every room

The tour continued with the Yale Uno and Yale YDL325 Series, smart locks designed for interior spaces such as home offices and walk-in closets. Guests also explored the Yale Solis Safe Series, fingerprint-enabled motorized safes for storing valuables and important documents.

Calzado said the safes provide peace of mind for busy families.

"With everything we juggle as parents, you just want to check it off your mind. I don't want to overthink if the passports are safe or where I put my watch. I'm assured that everything is protected,” she said.

The event also marked the launch of the Yale Zuri smart lock, featuring a new silver trim finish, fingerprint access, Yale Home App connectivity, PIN and RFID options, voice guidance, fake PIN protection, and built-in break-in alarms.

Carl Lim, president, chief executive officer and chief operating officer of Limson Marketing Inc., said partnerships remain key to bringing global innovations closer to Filipino consumers.

"Our commitment is to ensure that Assa Abloy's world-class innovations are seamlessly delivered to Wilcon Depot's massive nationwide network, and ultimately, into the hands of Filipino homeowners who deserve the very best,” he said.

To celebrate the second leg of the campaign, Yale Philippines, Limson Marketing Inc., and Wilcon Depot are offering introductory discounts of up to 35 percent on select Yale smart locks and safes through June.

The Smart Yale Home Pop-up Booth remains open at Wilcon Depot Balintawak, giving visitors the chance to experience Yale's latest smart home technologies firsthand.
